Stork Cornet Mouthpieces
All Vacchiano cornet models use the same rim as the trumpet. Standard cup depths (B, C, D, or E) are available with either a standard or short cornet shank.
The standard cups are recommended for players performing in sections with trumpets or with cornets using trumpet-style cup designs.
For brass band players or those seeking a more traditional cornet sound, we recommend the Traditional Series cups.
The Standard Cup
The Vacchiano Standard Cup combines both "C" and "V" cup characteristics. Moving from one cup size to the next does not simply increase depth. For example, the transition from the E Cup to the D Cup primarily opens the throat area, creating more of a "V" profile without adding significant depth. From the D Cup to the C Cup, both depth and the "V" profile increase. From the C Cup to the B Cup, the throat opens further, producing an even more pronounced "V" shape.
The SC Cup
SC stands for Shallow Cornet. Although it is called "shallow," it is actually much deeper than any of the standard Vacchiano cups. The SC Cup is designed primarily for Eb soprano cornet players in a traditional brass band setting.
The A Cup
Deeper and more V-shaped than the standard cups, the A Cup provides a rich, traditional cornet sound while remaining easier to play than the deepest models. It offers an excellent balance between warmth and response.
The A+ Cup
The A+ is Stork's deepest traditional cornet cup. It produces the rich, dark sound favored by brass band specialists while offering excellent intonation, secure slotting, and improved upper-register accuracy compared to many other deep cornet mouthpieces.
