Cut for Sleeves
Bob Reeves developed his sleeve system in 1973 as a method for adjusting the annulus ("gap") between the end of the mouthpiece and the beginning of the lead pipe. This allows the player to "fine tune" the playing back pressure of his/her set-up. It also allows the player to use one mouthpiece on different instruments that require a different gap.
The correct gap can only be determined through experimentation as it varies from player to player, mouthpiece to mouthpiece, and instrument to instrument. Virtually any trumpet mouthpiece can be converted to use Bob Reeves sleeves. They are available in sizes #0.5 through #7 in half sizes. A #0.5 sleeve will give you the greatest gap. A #7 is the smallest.
If you have your mouthpiece cut for sleeves, be sure to also purchase the sleeves that you need. Trumpet Sleeves.

Description
Bach Commercial 10HMV Trumpet Mouthpiece
Featuring a 15.34 mm cup diameter with a modified V-style cup and a medium-wide rim, the Bach Commercial 10HMV offers a slightly flatter rim face than the standard 10½ for added comfort and stability. Its smaller diameter combined with a modified V cup produces a full, focused tone with more depth than S-style cups, while maintaining clarity and control. Designed for efficient response and flexibility, it supports ease in the upper register. The #56 backbore helps facilitate the high register, providing strong projection and a focused, responsive sound.
