Cut for Sleeves
Bob Reeves developed his sleeve system in 1973 as a method for adjusting the annulus ("gap") between the end of the mouthpiece and the beginning of the lead pipe. This allows the player to "fine tune" the playing back pressure of his/her set-up. It also allows the player to use one mouthpiece on different instruments that require a different gap.
The correct gap can only be determined through experimentation as it varies from player to player, mouthpiece to mouthpiece, and instrument to instrument. Virtually any trumpet mouthpiece can be converted to use Bob Reeves sleeves. They are available in sizes #0.5 through #7 in half sizes. A #0.5 sleeve will give you the greatest gap. A #7 is the smallest.
If you have your mouthpiece cut for sleeves, be sure to also purchase the sleeves that you need. Trumpet Sleeves.

Description
Bach Symphonic 1¼C (26 Throat / #24 Backbore) Trumpet Mouthpiece
Featuring a 17.00 mm cup diameter with a medium cup and a medium-wide rim, the Bach Symphonic 1¼C offers a comfortable and well-balanced feel. Slightly smaller than the 1C, it provides added control while maintaining a full, clear tone. Its medium cup produces a balanced sound with a blend of warmth and brilliance, making it well-suited for versatile, all-around playing. The #26 throat and #24 backbore create a very open, free-blowing response with maximum airflow, resulting in a broad, expansive sound ideal for symphonic and orchestral settings.
