Cut for Sleeves
Bob Reeves developed his sleeve system in 1973 as a method for adjusting the annulus ("gap") between the end of the mouthpiece and the beginning of the lead pipe. This allows the player to "fine tune" the playing back pressure of his/her set-up. It also allows the player to use one mouthpiece on different instruments that require a different gap.
The correct gap can only be determined through experimentation as it varies from player to player, mouthpiece to mouthpiece, and instrument to instrument. Virtually any trumpet mouthpiece can be converted to use Bob Reeves sleeves. They are available in sizes #0.5 through #7 in half sizes. A #0.5 sleeve will give you the greatest gap. A #7 is the smallest.
If you have your mouthpiece cut for sleeves, be sure to also purchase the sleeves that you need. Trumpet Sleeves.

Description
Bach 10½E Trumpet Mouthpiece
Featuring a 15.90 mm cup diameter with a shallow cup and a medium-wide rim that is higher toward the inner edge, the Bach 10½E offers a supportive and responsive feel. Its shallow cup produces a scintillating, brilliant tone similar to the 7E, with excellent clarity in the high register. Preferred by players with weaker embouchures who need to perform in the upper range, it provides ease of response and strong articulation. The #117 backbore enhances projection and efficiency, contributing to a bright, focused sound.
