Cut for Sleeves
Bob Reeves developed his sleeve system in 1973 as a method for adjusting the annulus ("gap") between the end of the mouthpiece and the beginning of the lead pipe. This allows the player to "fine tune" the playing back pressure of his/her set-up. It also allows the player to use one mouthpiece on different instruments that require a different gap.
The correct gap can only be determined through experimentation as it varies from player to player, mouthpiece to mouthpiece, and instrument to instrument. Virtually any trumpet mouthpiece can be converted to use Bob Reeves sleeves. They are available in sizes #0.5 through #7 in half sizes. A #0.5 sleeve will give you the greatest gap. A #7 is the smallest.
If you have your mouthpiece cut for sleeves, be sure to also purchase the sleeves that you need. Trumpet Sleeves.

Description
A Bach 3C Trumpet Mouthpiece is a medium-wide rim, medium cup trumpet mouthpiece in the Vincent Bach line, known for its balanced response and versatility across orchestral, band, and commercial playing. It features a 16.30 mm inner diameter, a medium C cup, and a #10 backbore, producing a centered tone with good endurance and flexibility. Often considered a standard all-around mouthpiece, it suits players seeking a compromise between the broader sound of a Bach 1C Trumpet Mouthpiece and the slightly smaller feel of a Bach 7C Trumpet Mouthpiece.
