Cut for Sleeves
Bob Reeves developed his sleeve system in 1973 as a method for adjusting the annulus ("gap") between the end of the mouthpiece and the beginning of the lead pipe. This allows the player to "fine tune" the playing back pressure of his/her set-up. It also allows the player to use one mouthpiece on different instruments that require a different gap.
The correct gap can only be determined through experimentation as it varies from player to player, mouthpiece to mouthpiece, and instrument to instrument. Virtually any trumpet mouthpiece can be converted to use Bob Reeves sleeves. They are available in sizes #0.5 through #7 in half sizes. A #0.5 sleeve will give you the greatest gap. A #7 is the smallest.
If you have your mouthpiece cut for sleeves, be sure to also purchase the sleeves that you need. Trumpet Sleeves.

Description
Laskey 75MC Trumpet Mouthpiece
The Laskey 75MC Trumpet Mouthpiece features a 17.15 mm rim inner diameter, a standard #27 (3.66 mm) throat, and an 8.38 mm backbore with the Classic Series MC (medium-shallow, double cup) design. This configuration combines a responsive initial feel with added tonal depth, offering a versatile balance between brilliance and warmth.
The MC cup design provides a moderately shallow first chamber for quick response and easy articulation, while the secondary chamber enhances tonal complexity and fullness. This results in a clear, centered sound that remains rich and flexible, making the 75MC well-suited for jazz, commercial, ensemble, and solo playing.
The 17.15 mm rim offers a wide, stable feel on the embouchure, supporting endurance and consistent control. Combined with the standard throat and backbore, the 75MC promotes efficient airflow, smooth response, and reliable performance across all registers.
